WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE?

I am Sam

Samuel Clear has made a career with Youth Mission Team Australia (YMT) as a Team Member (2002/2003) and on staff as a ‘Manager’ (2003-2005). An incredible heart for God and an exceptional ability to connect with people, Sam is an intelligent, charismatic leader who has been instrumental in living and growing the vision and impact of YMT since coming on board over five years ago. YMT unites with you in prayer Sam, in this God given endeavour, and looks forward to welcoming you back on your return in ’08.

One of 5 children, Sam was born in February 1979 and grew up on isolated Flinders Island before his family moved to a 1500 acre property in the central north of Tasmania. He attended St Patrick’s College in Launceston, where he was the School Captain in 1996. He furthered his studies at the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2001 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

His upbringing on Flinders Island and then in rural Tasmania instilled in him a great sense of adventure and a love for the outdoors, particularly sport. He played AFL (Australian Football League) reserves as a 17 year old and represented Tasmania in underage football and basketball for two consecutive years in each sport. He was also heavily involved in both cricket and athletics. Standing at 196cm (6ft 5in) and weighing 95kg he’s difficult to miss!
